Canton Youth Leaders - Leadership Group Youth Leaders is an opportunity for students to come together and talk about ways to support our community. Youth voices are so critical, and this group will allow these voices to be heard and show that youth can make an impact in the community. Students will have the opportunity to advocate for youth needs and plan events to meet the needs of our community.Ideally this group will take place outside of school, so I am asking for feedback on days that work best for youth in the community. We do also have the ability to meet during lunch block at the Galvin.We will occasionally have food.

If you’re brand-new to chess, we’ll teach you the basics and get you playing right away. Adult Zumba - Zumba Fall Session 2 Move, shake, meet friends, and laugh! We have an incredible time at our Zumba Class!Adult Zumba is a class designed for ages 18+. These classes are great ways to meet friends in the community, relieve stress, and learn some new moves! Although you may forget at times, these classes are actually a great form of exercise. Adult classes are held on Thursday Nights at the Armando Center!Zumba Toning follows the same party inspired principles of an original Zumba class, but with a little added resistance to help tone and sculpt the body. In a Zumba Toning class you'll use very lightweight maraca-style shaker hand weights called Zumba toning sticks! Mine Craft and Roblox - Athena Coding - Roblox Athena Coding Mission:We believe that anyone can learn to code. Our mission is to bring a stimulating, high-energy, collaborative programming education to everyone. Our individualized instruction is a perfect introduction for a beginner, supplement to an in-school programming curriculum, or a way for precocious coders to further develop their skills!About Instructors:The most important thing about us is our Olympians! Our Olympian coding instructors are an eclectic group from a handful of diverse backgrounds who all combine 3 important qualities: a love and skill for programming, a passion for teaching, and the ability to cultivate a fun and rewarding environment. If you have a question for your child’s specific instructor, contact us and we will put you in touch.What to Bring:
Participants should bring their own lab tops or other smart devices that can be used during class.

Class Descriptions:Roblox:Bring your game ideas to life in Roblox! We’ll guide you through the lifecycle of game development; you’ll sketch out an idea, design your game, and complete a finished product! You’ll use the Lua programming language to create in Roblox’s 3D design studio while mastering real-world programming concepts. Whether you’re completely new to coding or a master, Roblox’s game design engine offers some incredibly fun challenges. We offer a unique and collaborative approach to programming and game design that will allow kids to develop their creativity while fostering an interest in practical skills.Minecraft An educational course that will cover:
Personalized game design
Animation and story telling
Programming in Python and Javascript
Architecture and design
Electrical circuitry using Minecraft’s patented Redstone circuit system
Logic gates, multi-system mechanisms
Modding
At the end of each class, students take home a freshly minted 3D-printed model of one of their designs!
For Minecraft class:Chromebook, iPad, or laptop required. Rentals can be provided for a $40 fee. For Roblox class:Macbook or PC Laptop required for this class. (Chromebooks are not compatible). Rentals can be provided for a $60 fee.Athena Coding will reach out a 1 or 2 before the program about rentals.
