Kids' Test Kitchen (KTK) is an enrichment program for kids that teaches nutrition and cooking through hands-on, team-based preparation of whole, seasonal foods. Led by experts, children slice, dice, and cook healthy recipes to foster confidence, with pressure-free tasting opportunities to encourage trying new things.Mondays 4/6 - 5/18: 5:30-6:30 (No Class April 20th)Fridays 4/10 - 5/22: 4:30-5:30 (No Class May 15th)Summer: 8/3 - 8/7: 10:00am-1:00pm (Armando Center Room 200)All registered participants must complete the Student Safety and Success Form found here: https://kidstestkitchen.com/safetysuccess/ Please read through the page and click on the red "REQUIRED: Tell us about your student here"Now a word from KTK!Cooking is a life skill, and so is eating!On a mission to redefine kid food; Kids’ Test Kitchen’s enthusiastic Facilitators get eaters of all ages and abilities, cooking, tasting, and thinking about healthy ingredients! Students engage with food in a way that is both educational and fun. Through hands-on experience, kids are taught the value of fresh, healthy ingredients and gain appreciation for the process of transforming those ingredients into a finished product. Each class closes with an opportunity to taste the result of their hard work. Even the most reluctant eaters enjoy Kids’ Test Kitchen, where participation is encouraged, and the choice to taste is always one’s own. Students receive a printed recipe card and the focal ingredient - or a sample of the finished dish - so they can show off what they learned at home! Parents report their kids come home from Kids’ Test Kitchen EXCITED about fresh ingredients and new flavors! Reluctant eaters learn that food is safe and fun! And everyone practices essential life skills like teamwork, time management, and patience,along with the obvious skills like slicing, measuring, and cooking!JOIN US AGAIN! Each series of classes offers fresh, new, recipes to prepare and explore!Kids have food allergies, but they shouldn’t miss out on the fun. We know allergies and can work around them, making sure that everyone is having fun and staying safe.*Families who have students with allergies or other necessary dietary modifications are required to complete the form linked here: https://kidstestkitchen.com/safetysuccess/ Summer: 8/3 - 8/7: 10:00am-1:00pm (Armando Center Room 200)In this multi-hour vacation session, your eaters, working together, will prepare entrées, fun snacks, and side items whose key ingredients are known to be really good for us! During this intensive, we’ll focus a bit more on learning practical cooking skills, while finding fun ways to enjoy the produce of the season! We will use every second of our time together! Along with cooking and tasting, which will be the emphasis, we’ll also take short breaks to move and flex our brain muscles – digging a bit deeper into the world of nutrition with fun activities. Even the most reluctant eaters enjoy KTK, where participation is expected, but tasting is always optional.
